ASR Mural

I had an amazing opportunity to work with some really talented artists
this past weekend. ISM magazine and The Glue Network came together once
again to raise awareness of the environmental impacts of the past 4
decades. Each team of 5 artists was put on a decade, my team was the
1970's featuring artists: Ekundayo http://www.ekundayo.com/    KMNDZ
http://www.kmndz.com/  Josh Clay http://www.jclayart.com/  Zoso
http://www.zoso1.com/  and SEIZER http://www.seizerone.com  We met up
on thursday night to discuss the layout. I was really stoked on my team
right away, they were all extremely thoughtful and intelligent. We ate,
talked, and laughed a lot. In the end it seamed like we had all
inspired each other to step up and produce something amazing. The next
morning we drove down to San Diego to the ASR trade show where the
event was being held. We arrived at about 9am, got our badges and I got
started on the base. Upon doing some research on what happened
environmentally in the 70's I was quick to notice the irony of the gas
shortage and the inefficient automobiles that were being produced
during that same time.  I thought it would be interesting to juxtapose
images of the gas shortage along side of the more extravagant
automobile advertisements. On top of this would be characters
representing the oil companies, the gluttonous auto tycoons, and then
the environmentally conscious man fighting for his rights.  Check out
the photos on my profile as well as ISM and The Glue Network sites.
