seizer n.

I chose the moniker seizer because of it’s definition. I felt that it defined my intentions of creating the icon on multiple levels.  I chose to make an icon based on the features of my own face to find out what people would make out of a permeating icon of an unknown person.  My intention is for the viewer to have an experience of their own and hopefully inspire them to dream, imagine, create, and in turn inspire someone else.  One notable piece of feedback that I have received from people is that when they see the icon it gives them a sense of freedom, that someone out there is not going with the grain of society, and somehow they are connected to that.

The intention of my paintings is different from that of my posters. I am not quite sure I consider my posters “art”, and I really dislike the term “street art” and I don’t subscribe to that. Dan Witz is a street artist, I just put up posters.  My paintings are for me and my friends. They are expressions of my feelings, reflections of my surroundings, and lately they have been someone else’s expressions and I am just the hand that paints them.

OMG! Here I was ready to tell you how I chose to accept your friend-ness here because I found it intriguing that the same person whose face adorns poles in my 'hood wants to be my virtual buzznet friend. It's neat when the real world and this one overlap. Then you mentioned Dan Witz, an old friend of mine from NYC, whom I haven't seen in years. So I found his website and will drop him a line. Perhaps you too are an old friend from NYC and I just don't recognize your illustrated face...
